A child needs three things to grow with a healthy mind and heart: unconditional love, acceptance, and safety.
When a child misses even one of these, which happens more often than we like to admit, they grow up carrying broken pieces.
Wounds settle deep in the soul.
They hide in the shadows, quietly shaping our choices.
They hurt, but not always loudly enough to point us toward what needs healing.
I spent so long trying to dig into the wound, clean it, and band-aid it. I now know I will never fully heal until I give myself the very things my inner child needed most:
Unconditional love, acceptance, and safety...
We all search for them in the wrong places.
We make choices that do not serve us.
We break our own hearts, again and again.
It is time for me to break this pattern. And I hope you, my precious reader, can do the same.
For me, in the Yasmine way, #TheYasminism, loving myself does not always come easily. But when I focus on loving Allah, kindness toward myself begins to flow naturally.
Life feels softer, and I feel like I'm coming home to myself.
I also know this deeply: love and spirituality look different for everyone. It could be through faith, healing work, relationships, quiet inner practices, or something completely different.
So I hope you find your love, your acceptance, and your safety in the way that fits you, and only you.
